Ecobar™ is an APET film designed for superior barrier protection and exceptional sealing capabilities. By replacing the traditional polyethylene (PE) commonly used in PET/Barrier/PE structures with PET, Ecobar™ enables trays to carry the RIC1 code given that more than 90% of the product is PET. Ecobar™ is available with 50% post-consumer recycled content.
Ecobar™ film stands out with its remarkable clarity and performance, making it ideal for a diverse array of food applications. It ensures extended freshness and robust protection, effectively prolonging the shelf life of perishable goods — whether in modified atmosphere packaging (MAP) or standard conditions.
Compatible with a variety of universal sealing lidding films, Ecobar™ is also perfectly suited for Form-Fill-Seal (FFS) packaging processes, offering both versatility and efficiency in food packaging solutions. Choose Evertis Ecobar™ for an eco-friendly, high-performance packaging option that prioritizes freshness and sustainability.

Evertis IR Black products are tailor-made monolayer or multilayer films that are formulated with an IR Black masterbatch that is detectable by the current sorting technology in recycling processes. Standard packages produced with carbon black pigments are non-detectable and difficult to sort during the separation process. Consequently, films produced with carbon black masterbatches end up in mixed polymer stream and therefore are not recycled. Evertis has developed a new sustainable alternative that is carbon black free, improving the recyclability of the material and the packaging. As a result this achieves a solution for a circular economy.
Evertis IR Black films are food contact approved, ideal for either MAP or vacuum packaging and are effectively processed through HPP. This unique PET-based structure is available both with and without barrier that offer superior performance for a wide range of applications.
