With more than 60 years experience in the polymers industry, Evertis is in a position to lead our sector towards circularity through innovation in products and processes. Alliances with our clients to find ways where we can deliver high-end products with the minimum social and environmental impact, and even have a positive impact, is one of our main goals. Through our expertise, the collaboration between our production sites in Brazil, Mexico, and Portugal, as well as through the engagement in industry and international associations, we are able to respond to the needs of our clients and to the demands of end users.
Investments in advanced machines allied with rigorous quality control mechanisms ensure our products have excellent physical and mechanical properties. We constantly search for new technology, enabling us to take an active role in the development of extrusion lines for processing PET. Anticipating and commercialising technology is of great importance to ensure innovative, cost effective quality products.
The technological focus is found in all sectors of Evertis, from our suppliers to our logistic providers, offering our customers solutions with added value.
Coextrusion allows us to combine various materials with an extensive range of properties into new formulations. At our in-house laboratories we use state-of-the-art technology to test samples of new formulations and guarantee they meet customers’ needs and assure film properties are up to specification.
Innovation is one of the central axes of our sustainability strategy. We want our new launches, and our customers' new products, to contribute to having a regenerative impact on the industry and the environment.
In 2021 we launched our Innovation Task Force, joining together key team members from different countries, departments, and positions. In 2022 we tested pioneer innovation methodologies, that drove creative new ways to approach problems and create the novel concepts that are being implemented.
Our team learnt new ways to overcome hurdles in adoption and implementation of the projects we are working on, and with that we were able to drive progress on our projects at a much faster pace. With a new set of agile skills and stringent project management, we are now perpetuating innovation beyond workshops.
Evertis delivers tailor-made solutions for packaging that succeeds beyond its basic functionality and responds to evolution. We believe in an obligation to foster sustainability practices that add value to our products and protect our environment, focusing on a circular economy.
The Evertis ECOSEAL™ line of products features recyclable APET films with enhanced sealing capabilities. The perfect solution for a fully recyclable APET mono-material packaging tray. Suitable for Form-Fill-Seal and thermoforming processes in applications such as cheese, processed meat and fresh meat, fish, pizza, and others. Presentation in rolls on a wide range of thicknesses and widths.
Evertis Barrier Solutions are recyclable APET films with enhanced barrier and sealing capabilities. The usual PET/barrier/PE structure is replaced with a PET/barrier/PET structure, with 90% of the structure being PET. ECOBARTM is the perfect solution for those brand-owners looking for alternative solutions that maintain product functionality in terms of food preservation, whilst meeting recyclability goals.
Evertis Ibérica, our industrial site in Portugal, obtained the ECOSENSE Certificate, for the first time, in July 2019, adding value to our products and contributing to an increasingly transparent European plastic industry. The ECOSENSE Certificate is now known as RETRAY and is granted by the Plastic Sense Foundation.
Evertis buys and incorporates post-industrial and post-consumer multilayer PET and reintroduces recycled PET from delamination processes as secondary raw material in our production processes of manufacture of film.
As part of Packaging Europe's Live Week 2020, our Head of Marketing & Sustainability spoke with leaders in the field of packaging sustainability in a live discussion where Evertis shared how we are addressing the biggest environmental challenges faced by the industry.
All of our products are subject to strict and exhaustive quality tests at our in-house laboratories. Our industrial units count on regular maintenance and modernization to assure consistent, high quality of our products.
At Evertis we are cautious when selecting raw materials to guarantee the highest quality of our products. The global partnerships we have created with major raw materials and machine producers, allow our experts to maintain close contact with our raw material suppliers.
Evertis films comply with several regulatory codes and have been accredited with the following quality certificates:
Evertis is currently in the process of obtaining the Environmental Management System certification according to the ISO 14001:2015 standard, in the scope of the production of mono and multilayer plastic films (PET, PET/PE and PET/Barrier Film) by PET extrusion and water-based lamination for food packaging applications and products in general.
Additionally Evertis is in the process of acquiring the same certificate in the scope of the production of PET flake for the transforming industry, through the valorisation of waste.

The investment project aimed at producing a film based on Polyethylene Terephthalate ("PET") for use in Personal Protective Equipment ("PPE"), namely as a protective barrier on visors, masks with visors and goggles, items that are essential in combating the COVID-19 virus. To enable this new application, the film must be extruded from an improved PET resin, in order to obtain superior characteristics of transparency, crystallinity, mechanical resistance and chemical resistance to disinfectant products among others.
The investment included the installation of a new production line, technologically designed to allow the extrusion of film with the characteristics mentioned above, presenting a theoretical productive capacity of 12,000 tons per year (expected to result in an effective capacity of 11,000 tons per year).

Project FCOMP-02-0203-FEDER-013246 is of structural importance to the continuation of the Company’s activity, specifically the strategy to diversify its markets through the acquisition of various pieces of production line equipment that will allow for significant improvements, both qualitative and quantitative, to the product range, consolidating the company’s position on the European market in PET-based plastic film.
The investments made in the project are based on a strategic analysis of the company’s strengths and weaknesses, and recognised threats and opportunities in the external environment. The strategic objectives to be reached with this project were quantified clearly and objectively.
