Through the Sol Pacifico Foundation Ecobricks Project, Evertis has proudly supported four schools in the Jalisco area of Mexico: The Libertad (Arroyo Seco) school, Unión y Progreso (Emiliano Zapata), Emiliano Zapata (Francisco Villa), and the Emiliano Zapata (San Mateo) school. Our commitment to fostering environmental education and sustainability has led to significant advancements in these communities.
Thanks to the development of a comprehensive educational program, these schools now include fundamental topics in their courses, such as recycling, circularity, local ecosystems, and the water cycle, benefiting at least 304 children directly and 3,330 people indirectly per year.
Our program goes beyond traditional education by incorporating a range of activities that foster environmental responsibility and awareness. These include beach clean-ups and free surf lessons, offered in various communities. During the beach clean-ups, students from multiple schools come together to volunteer, collecting inorganic waste from the coastline. These hands-on experiences not only promote environmental stewardship but also instill universal values and essential soft skills, such as teamwork and organisation. Additionally, surfing encourages healthy habits, builds resilience, strengthens connections with nature, and creates shared moments of fun and camaraderie.
We’ve also introduced fun and engaging contests that foster values and skills for learning, creativity development, and cooperation. These are designed to create awareness among children about better management of their inorganic waste. By participating in these activities, the children can develop a deeper understanding of the importance of recycling and sustainable practices, at the same time as they practice their creativity and problem-solving abilities.
Through all these activities, children learn to appreciate the natural world and develop a sense of responsibility toward preserving it.
